Krabs tells Spongebob that if he gets on a hook, he'll be reeled up to the surface and go through something terrible, like becoming a trinket at a gift shop or being sealed in a can of tuna.

Later on, Patrick tells SpongeBob that the carnival has returned to town and encourages him to leave work to attend it. However, the so-called "carnival" is then revealed to be Fish Hooks Park, much to SpongeBob's horror. Patrick indulges in the free cheese attached to the hooks and plays on them. SpongeBob tries to resist, but Patrick ultimately encourages him.

Conforming to peer pressure, SpongeBob joins Patrick in playing on the hooks. They swiftly manage to avoid near-death experiences possible. Krabs eventually witnesses what the boys are doing and strictly prohibits them from the hooks or else consequences will follow. The following day, Patrick breaks his promise and plans on playing in Fish Hooks Park again, encouraging SpongeBob to skip work and do the same. However, the latter refuses and keeps his promise. Upon walking to work, SpongeBob encounters a hook in the middle of the street and tries to resist, but subsequently gives up and plays on them once again.

The hook manages to be unremovable from his pants. SpongeBob then confronts Mr. Krabs about the hook and, with enough courage, admits that he was playing on them despite his warnings. As comeuppance, SpongeBob is forced to remove both his pants and his underwear and suffer the humiliation of public nudity. Find them with your vision and destroy their car.
