King is a better athlete but Calzada is mobile enough to get the job done. King is also well thought of inside the program. It will be interesting to see where they are after the summer and in fall camp.

He looked more fluid on his touches but the lack of blocking and high end tight ends was an issue.

Neither Earnest Crownover or Deondre Jackson got many touches but Crownover made a nice cutback inside on a toss play and ran over linebacker Antonio Doyle. He's a violent runner who can change direction and has solid vision. Jackson is big as well but doesn't quite run with as much power.

Both will be challenged by frosh LJ Johnson in the fall. The skill guys combined to drop nine passes per Jimbo Fisher's estimate and most of those were the fault of the wideouts. There were other lapses in concentration and communication between the quarterback and pass catcher. The starting wideouts still managed to catch 17 balls for yards and Smith had a 57 yarder late in the game working with Calzada. The Maroon team was able to work deeper routes since they had superior protection.
